What are these geotechnical surveys?
A series of small-scale surveys to understand the ground conditions and the flow of water underground.
These initial surveys will be confined to the f ields and will last for 3 – 4 weeks.
There will be some follow-up work in the coming months. During this time, short sections of Ryhall Road and Little Casterton Road will be reduced to a single carriageway for a few hours to allow the work to take place safely. We will work with Lincolnshire County Council to minimise the disruption and will provide advanced notice of any closures on the roadside and on the ‘News’ section of our website.
What are archaeological investigations?
Stamford’s heritage is woven into every corner of the town. These are careful investigations to ensure anything of significant archaeological interest is properly understood and recorded before work begins.
Whilst these surveys will involve excavating trenches and trial pits in the fields after a few days, when we have documented our findings, the soil will be carefully put back.
What Does This Mean For You?
This remains a project with the Stamford community at its heart, and we want to work with you throughout.
We still have some steps ahead of us before we start construction. We look forward to restarting our full community programme. We’ll run events covering everything from the Design Code to cycling and walking, and sustainability to arts and play.
Please sign-up to our email updates on www.stamfordnorth.com. That’s where we will share future news, but please let us know if you have any challenges accessing the website.
